Le Pain Quotidien
Le Pain Quotidien at the Sailboat Pond is a Belgian bakery and restaurant inside Central Park at East 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue -- one of the most remarkable settings of any cafe in New York. Overlooking the Conservatory Water, it's the perfect place to pause on a park walk, meet after a morning run or simply take in one of the city's most calming views over organic sourdough and specialty coffee. We serve breakfast and lunch: croissants, tartines, eggs, seasonal salads, soups and a full range of vegan and vegetarian dishes. All made with natural ingredients, and organic wherever possible. Open from 7am every day.

β The photos the restaurant posts are fake; the food doesn't look like the pictures. We went there and they had almost nothing on the menu. They only had two types of tea and hardly anything else available when we tried to order. The waitress had a terrible attitude. We ordered the avocado toast and the chicken sandwich, and they tasted AWFUL. The chicken tasted old and had a strange flavor. Everything was dirty. Don't go there.β

βWe enjoyed hot drinks & pastries at the Le Pain Quotidien kiosk near the boating lake in Central Park today at one of their tables in the late evening sunshine, watching people going by and children sailing their rented remote controlled model boats in the lake. My wife enjoyed her weak one shot, milky latte and small moist mini carrot cake and I enjoyed my English breakfast tea but there wasn't much apple in my apple turnovers, which was mainly dry flakey pastry. The bill came to $21. There were public male & female toilets either side of the kiosk and a table service section offering waiter service for a selection of food & drinks. It wasn't too busy when we were there around 6pm on a Saturday evening and it was the perfect place to sit down, take a break, relax and watch the world go by in Central Park whilst enjoying a drink. We were fortunate to be there to listen to the famous Central Park guitar man playing some beautiful guitar music from across the boating lake during one of his regular Saturday slots.β

βVery bad service. The girls working there were rude, no smile, not wellcoming at all , both of the picture had a really bad attitude I ordered two croissants and a coffee and waited standing for about 10 minutes for my drink. When I asked about my coffee, she said she didn't charge it -- even though they saw me waiting there the whole time. No one bothered to ask if I needed anything, and they had a really bad attitude. If I were the owner, I would definitely change the staff. They don't look happy with their job and give a terrible service I don't feel that I want to come back even though the place is beautifulβ
