“Went around 2pm on a Sunday and sat at a patio table in the corner next to trash cans, which smelled. The trash can closest to us (within 3 ft) had a rat in it, which we saw and heard moving around. There was trash still on the table from previous customers, but the most surprising part was the owner telling us that the people at our table who didn't order drinks were 'taking up real estate and needed to pay the rent or leave' by buying drinks. The inside of the bar was pretty empty and there were other empty tables in the patio area, so her comments were just rude and unwarranted. She also made another rude comment out loud about other customers who left while we were there, which all the patio could hear. Update: judging from the owner's replies and other reviews, the unwelcome and rude attitude seems to be a common theme. I rarely leave reviews, but this was an extraordinarily poor experience and it's clear others feel the same way. I've been to hundreds of bars in NY and have worked in the hospitality industry, and I've never seen anyone so hostile towards customers. If you weren't as rude we would've bought more drinks. Inhospitable people should get out of the hospitality industry.”

“Fantastic little pub! Great service from bar man (wish I got his name but he had longish salt and peppered hair). We brought our drinks back to the bar but he didn't see so he followed us down the street to make sure we didn't get fined for open carrying our beers (we are foreign tourists). 10/10 would come back again ”

“According to the owner, "Lucky is a comfortable neighborhood bar, delightfully douche-free, with a warm, whip-smart staff that doesn't suffer fools." Well, I made a trip to East Village just to check this spot out, and I must say I will never return! The bartender, Tracy, was the biggest "douche" in the place. She was slamming stuff around and very rude to me multiple times. Save yourself the time and go around the corner to 11th street bar... much nicer, good drinks, and friendly staff.”
