Pennant-lined walls, TVs & craft beers keep sports fans in the rooting spirit at this tiny bar.

β€œSmall sports bar with an old New York feel. This place is simple. 12 beers on tap, a couple of wine and hard seltzer choices. There are around 10 smaller TVs in this pub, maybe 10 bar stools and 4 tables for about 8 people to sit. It's definitely a Mets bar, but the sports decor makes this place really cool (this coming from a Yankees fan). $15 credit card minimum and they accept Visa and Mastercard only. I highly recommend grabbing a pint here. I don't believe they serve food, however they do accept outside food.”

β€œOh gosh how I miss old Standings on Seventh Street. Fun times--even if your team (hello Mets, Jets) loses. Owner Gary, champion of those 2 messy franchises, grins through it all. Seek him out for the latest news and accumulated wisdom of 20-years in biz in Manhattan. So diverse and wide is 7th Street (has the distance between 2nd and 3rd Ave been measured? And is it less than a mile? really? hmmm) that unbeknownst to most passersby and patrons of Tourist Central McSorleys (near 3rd) there is a special pub just down the way (near 2nd). Teeming with paraphernalia (much hangs from the rafters), it can be said that those banners and the like are unnecessary, for the true spirit is captured in the Hey Heys and Oh Nos and the ringing of the bell. A set of clean, pedantic regulars keeps things humming even on a slow Tuesday. Standings does not serve liquor but it does faithfully serve sports. Any man, woman of age can enter (I've witnessed many times); state the game they wish to watch; and the staff will attempt to accommodate via one of the array of TV sets. But if a cable etc deal makes it a no-go, these visitors will be informed of alternative games or possible vendor. A landline remains at the ready to field these queries also. It's always neat to see not only Your game, but the gathering of partisans of a distant school or pro team. Charlotte fans? Yes. New York has it all, and it's better to have Standings. So, go to there, to take a break from The Arts, and take in a game. You can even order in food. ProTips: a) ignore the insufferable collegians seeking and touting the Most Hoppy. Hang near the good barmen--Bud Light and the occasional Underberg is the way to pass the time. b) against the northeast wall is a couple of genuine Shea Stadium seats. Give it a whirl.. Shout out to Harry, funniest bouncer in the city.”

β€œI love this place. I spent a couple nights over NFL Wildcard weekend this year watching the games. Great small town bar vibes, excellent for watching the games (especially on the Monday night, when it was much quieter than Saturday). Great barmen, no music and friendly clientele. You can order in your own food too.”
