VIVA CAFE MEXICAN RESTAURANT

“Viva just opened a couple months ago and I pass by all the time and been wanting to check it out. The first thing I'll say is you definitely get great quality, fresh food, in good portions. There's another Poblana restaurant that's pretty famous in the Bronx that doesn't give you anywhere near the food Viva does. I got a carnitas torta and it was mostly carnitas and not lettuce! That's always good! The service was great and the food came out surprisingly fast, despite there being a dozen or so people there. We were greeted immediately and everyone seemed friendly. The atmosphere is bright and engaging. The booths were comfortable tho everything came out fast so we didn't stay long. Again, a good thing. Everything is more expensive now thanks to the devaluation of the dollar, but the prices here were very reasonable for the quality and portions of the food you get. I didn't try the juice bar so i can't comment on that. I would definitely come back to try the other stuff on the menu, particularly the tamales.”

“I love the fresh pressed watermelon juice. The staff is always nice when I go in and the restaurant is always clean and inviting. Music is always playing but at a decent level where I can hold a conversation and not yell across the table or I can get up and dance.”
